And don't friggin' speed in Australia, mate. They sound a bit tetchy since that Mad Max movie came out...shame...those old supercharged Holdens are pretty fierce...

Don't get me wrong - I'm all for exploring a car's 'potential', but there is a time and a place for everything! Exceeding the speed limit in Oz by more than 45 km/hr is automatic loss of license. Accelerating past a cop who is already booking someone in a modified (loud) expensive car is asking to be noticed. Did surreal think it was OK because the policeman couldn't stop /finish what he was doing and give chase? He probably let the other guy go just because of his audacity!
Do American mothers think it is responsible driving for their 17 y.o. sons to do 101 mph racing other drivers on public roads with the possibility of not only hurting themselves but innocent parties? Obviously yours doesn't as she went into bat for you so that you 'got out of jail' and probably didn't learn anything from it (unless you count the extra garden chores, the downgrading in vehicle and educational 'torture'). My mum would have given me a flogging and let me wear the consequences!
So from the other posts, is the answer to breaking the law to get your parents to pay for some lawyer to get you out of the sh*t that you got YOURSELF into? yeah riiiiiiight!
