Really what crap luck on my part. I changed the damn fuel filter 10 months ago.
The crazy this is I spoke to the mechanic yesterday and he said 80 psi was ok. I repeated it and he said, yes.
That's just not true.
It all makes sense now. 80psi isn't that high so my fuel trims were negative but below 10 percent and not tripping the check engine light. I bet if pressure were even higher and the same had to adjust further it would have thrown a light and a code.
I think the fuel pressure regulator is just severely out of spec on the Hengst filter he put in. Sad.
