I tried the 3/4" fine pitch threaded rod and the difference is massive. It was not "easy" but it was very doable with a large ratchet and a crescent wrench, even without heat/cold. No visible damage to the threaded rod. Bearing is back in and just buttoning up the suspension now. Pics to come.
