No the inner definitely. Early ones compared to my 2006 had a completely different earthing system. Probably way to late, but it's just FYI now anyway. I find my car is just playing with me when I order new parts.
My VIN according to the BMW dealers indicates E70 and E53 but I am blowed if know how they arrive at that. The parts I need have to have a physical photo taken every time. Generally the mechanical ones anyway!
Guys here have checked and say it is late to last E53
