I see a lot of "shill" claims about C&B and BaT but having sold my F30 a few weeks ago on C&B I didn't see any of that. The final battle was between two bidders. I was watching it as it was happening while driving to the KC airport. Distracting! But I got the exact price I thought I'd get and closing the deal was painless.

The sites are legit and I think they do a good job of vetting sellers at least. I would have advised this seller to lower the reserve or not have one. But yeah they could have had a friend or two bunp up the bids and I'm not sure there's any way to prevent that. Same bs on ebay too.

I will say that these sites are great for sellers especially if you have somewhat of a unicorn which mine was (6-speed manual, N55, very low miles and a hot color combo). A low-spec fleet-white 335i automatic with maybe 80K miles did not sell on C&B as reserve not met at $13K. Kind of a boring car. Mine went for about twice that. But for buyers, ehhh... everything I've bid on so far gets out of control so I'm not looking there anymore.
