Yeah it's pretty oily from what little I can see. I replaced the PS reservoir about two years ago and it did drip some on the alternator.
So the voltage regulator isn't likely to be the issue? A reman alternator is about $250. I see them in 90, 120, and 140 amp versions so I’m not sure which one to get.
