Kevin - if you're running WinXP service pack 2, you should have Windows Movie Maker 2 installed on your computer which is a really simple program to use. Import a couple of clips, drag them onto the storyboard, add effects (fade in, fade out, etc) as needed, then save as a movie. That's about it!
