I had read some of those, but hadn't been able to put it all together. Your post w/the links really helped.
To summarize:
- For BT w/Assist, I will need the '05 TCU. That's the ONLY way to get BT w/Assist.
- For VR, I will need the VR module - although I'm not so sure about this.
- I will need the proper snap-in for my phone so I can put it in the center console
- I will need either a bumper antenna from BMW or a window antenna and this will need to be routed to the center console and connected to the snap-in. I'm not so sure about this, either, since one of the links discussed connecting the BMW bumper antenna to a connection in the LR quarter panel.
- didn't find anything about charging the phone in the cradle
Still confused about VR: Do I need a separate module or is VR now integrated into the '05 TCU? I had read (somewhere - can't find the link) that people with the '05 TCU didn't need the separate VR module.
Still confused about the antenna: what antenna does the CPT 9000 (my current phone) use? Why can't I use it with a BT phone? This link:
http://www.xoutpost.com/articles/all-...bluetooth.html discusses an antenna connection in the LR quarter panel - as if the X5 is pre-wired for an antenna in the center console. However, my service advisor at BMW told me that if I upgrade to the '05 TCU, I won't have an integrated antenna.
Still wondering about charging the phone in the cradle: The Moto E815 uses the same charging/power connection as the V60s/CPT 9000. If the V60 can charge in the cradle, it seems to me I should be able to use the same connection to charge the E815. Has anyone done this?
Once again, Thanks in advance for all the help!
