Going into service mode showed the GPS in "satellite search" mode. Almanac data was in use but the SNR screen showed zeros for all satellites. Mysteriously, after leaving the car in the parking lot and returning later in the day, the problem had vanished. A quick check of all connections to my GPS unit showed no problems and I can't believe that I had a hardware problem crop up whose timing was precisely coincidental with the time I did my v27 upgrade.

I'm betting this is a firmware issue based on other posters who have seen the same situation crop up. This may also be why CortinaD's service advisor said that BMW is advising not to install v27. Interestingly, although I'm not sure how, this may somehow be related to the 2006.2 DVD that I now have loaded which I recently purchased from NavTek.

I'm now eagerly awaiting v28...
Hey man

Im using the Australia disc V10. I notice that my satellites dropped of also the other day (V27) and when I go into the service menu it shows the receiver version but 0.0.0 for date. under version 26 it remember shows both.

I disconnected the battery for 10 minutes and all was well.
