Man, I wish I saw this post yesterday. I could not find my filter on my 4.4. I ended up removing the steel plate under the engine. I figured that the filter was behind that since I couldn't see it from below. After removing both wheels, to get to the shield nuts, and still not seeing the filter. I swore that I would NEVER do an oil change again. Until I finally saw that the damn filter is behind the driver headlight in plan sight. A 20minute job turned into an hour and a half.
