Yes, you're both absolutely correct. (Sorry to pick on your post, Quicksilver! No hard feelings... ) As far as critically reviewing the situation, there's really not much to learn that I didn't already know full well! Again, my frustration was that I let my guard down (my wife and I were arguing!), and it cost me.
As CJ described above, I have long since gotten into the habit of being on constant "cop-watch", as I have never owned a radar detector prior to last October... and I have done my fair share of speeding. Hopefully the V1/S1 isn't resulting in an atrophy of my keep eye for speed traps...
