I wouldn't say they're ugly but you're right about the resemblance to the Sorento. There're rumour of the ML
65 AMG which will no doubt put it on par (or at least close to) with the Cayenne TT.
Worry not guys as BMW will have the answer in the next generation X5. At least I hope so.
