I have completed the front doors. The first door took me nearly 2.5 hours -- OK I had something break and had to run to the hardware store. Door 2 took around 30 minutes, much easier the second time!

One hint for those doing this, when you try to pop the door off, there is a fairly thin cable that is used to light the door handle. The piece it attaches to on the door is very fragile (meaning I broke it). A little glue fixed it. It is important to remove that cable first.

I also chose to solder the woofer housing instead of clip it on as the instructions said.

The person who puts the Torx on the tweater mounting must be mad, those where screwed in there pretty good.

The new speakers are awesome. I actually heard the sound of cymbals in an X5 for the first time (this is my fourth X5).

Tomorrow I tackle the rears, should be pretty easy now that I have the hang of it. I'm also going to attempt the dash mids tommorow.

I wish the Bav folks had a drop in subwoofer (that fit where the OEM should go). I can tell already that the system is going to really want a sub. I don't want to put a box in my already too small cargo area. I have the non-DSP model.

Anyways, I do highly recommend the MB Quarts. The tweeter alone is worth the price.
