And who do you think is going to do the driilling?
Is our government going to form its own oil company, purchase the equipment, and do their own drilling? And will these reserves become nationalized and belong to the American public then? Doubtful.
Instead, the same companies like Exxon-Mobil, who are already owned and controlled by the Saudis, are going to do the drilling.
There is plenty of oil (for now). They can pump more if they want. They choose not to in order to keep the price high. What they need to do is build more refinaries and pump more oil. But they have no incentive to do so unlness the government forces them to do so, and since they control the government, that is never going to happen.
