No offence taken but unless you have proof to the contrary then the text of the Bible does validate that the people and events described therein are factual.

There are some Christians who read the same Bible as you & I read and interpret the text as meaning that the earth is 6,000 years old and humans and dinosaurs once lived together as beast and man.

Actually the Bible interprets it's self if time is taken to study it. It's up to us to verify what is written. About the only thing you or I will ever read that has not been embellished even a tiny bit are commendations for Medal of Honor awardees.

As far as commendations for Medal of Honor awardees are concerned I have never read one. But I can tell you this i hope they are not like funerals where people brag about what a great person so and so was when everyone know he or she was a jerk.
