A 4.0 liter what? A V-8? The displacement doesn't seem characteristic for an inline 6, and BMW has made small displacement V-8's before, but why a tweener engine?

I heard the 3.0d was to arrive before the 4.0 V8 turbodiesel.
In regards to the camouflage, they're making the mules look as ugly as possible. They gotta save something for when the wraps finally do come off.

A new '4.0' will probably be a variation of whatever the M3 is getting.
