If you're not interested in anything portable and something you can use with a desktop after your party need is over, I love my THX Certified Klipsch Pro Medias. I have the 2.1 setup and they sound incredible. They are mucho loud and the sub gives excellent base. They're a little cheaper than they used to be but are still probably around $150. (I got them a few years ago for $80 on clearance .) Since you need them quickly, eBay probably won't help you and you can get these at most major tech stores.
