I think he's one of the greatest of all time. Too bad he won't be remembered as such. And as for the steroids thing, well he probably did use them, as did many others. Personally, since MLB never had steroids as something thats illegal until recently, I don't blame him or anyone else who used the Cream and the Clear or whatever else. MLB & Bud need to take some of the blame too b/c they can't seem to get anything right.

I agree somewhat. Bonds was great and he cheated, but so did lots of other guys, so you can't just single him out simply for cheating. But he was, and is, a major prick, and for that he deserves the response he has received. He has never been a gracious or appreciative player.
Ther are three phrases that Derek Jeter lives by that makes him beloved:
1) Be Humble
2) Play Like You've Been There Before
3) Know That It Can All End Today
OK, so I am not sure that he lives by those phrases, but I have an associate with sport, and I know for a fact that those are 3 rules that many great players live by. Jeter certainly lives this, and whether you like him or not, you can't argue thr above. When it comes to Bonds, he knows none of this, and it shows. He got, and is getting, what he deserves, imho.
