well first of all, we didn't end up starting our trip until a day later, on saturday.
but, traffic didn't end up being our main problem: we got to yosemite only to discover that the road we were going to use to continue east through yosemite and on into nevada was ...... CLOSED!!!!!!!!!!!!
got a few beautiful pix with an old 2.0 MP canon elph camera which i may post if anyone is interested ....gotta say those pix made the trip worth it even with the closed road heh
long story short, ended up being forced to drive all the way to LA, and then leave for LA on sunday, arriving 3.5 hrs later(!) around 4 pm.
irony was that my buddy's bro and bro's gf had rented our a suite at mandalay bay, but we never got to sleep as we were back in LA at 8 AM after clubbing all night lol .... we didn't want to get stuck in 6+ hrs of traffic coming home on monday
not too many crazy stories to report i'm afraid, although while en route to vegas, we were doing about 95 when a silver CLK350 with two persian girls blew past us at about 120+ lol ...... guess they were running kinda late lol
anyway, for my first time ever(!) partying in vegas, i have to say, it was pretty sick: mandalay bay was super nice, and we went to Tryst at the Wynn hotel -- OFF THE HOOK, we were there from doors open @ 10 until about 3, then checked out the strip a bit, then were back on the road at about 415 heading back to LA, and then last night at 3 AM i ended up back in SF.
1,990 miles on my X5 in 5 days.
WOW.
time for a very long car wash and wax job heh
