Hey Alan,

Very interesting that you mention that.. In my 2 hour quest to quiet down the rattling, I noticed that ski passthrough latch too.. Didn't put anything in there, but I will to see if the final rattling can be stopped.

I also found out that the channel bumper stop fix doesn't apply to the 06's as they have spring mounted stops for the hatch - adding a felt pad wouldn't help.

Also, the one or two bumpers right next to the latch on the hatch portion aren't there at all - might have something to do with the self-latching feature.

BMW has clearly spent a lot of time to install bumpers and rubber pads all over the place on the back of the X - an 'A' for effort, but about a 'B-' for success.. Hopefully via X5World, we can figure these out together.

I'll post back if the new 'ski-passthrough' fix is successful.
