The Governator is in office because his successor, Gray Davis, forgot that he had a constituency to answer to. Is Arnold the best person to fill the office of Governor - probably not. But a better choice did not run against Arnold. Certainly Cruz Bustamante was not the answer.

Arnold is doing just fine - he made some rookie mistakes which was expected. The state is doing just fine with an inherited debt of $22 billion from Davis reduced by the Governator down to $6.5 billion. Keep in mind that Davis came in at a time California was booming economically, so what he did was induce an economic disaster.
