I did the ground school many years ago. The instructor didn't know I was a doctor, and one class he proceeded to tell us how important it was to fly around, just to keep skills up. Said "Doctors kill themselves and their families in planes, because they are too busy to just fly around for a couple hours every week. When they have a chance to fly, they think they have to fly their families to Jamaica or something." It got me thinking, really hard. I completed the ground school, and never did the flying portion. Later, when I ran a helo EMS program, I knew I made the right decision. A good pilot flies all the time, and learns lots of skills an occasional pilot cannot.
Wagner, if you learn to fly, fly often.
