I gotta be honest with you. I don't know a lot about PDA's aside from researching the differences in the OS's (windows vs palm). I have used Palm exclusively so that influenced my decision for sure. After that it came down to Sprint or Verizon because the 700P for cingular may be down the road a bit. Some one I know who's a gadget guru did say that of the 2 Verizon has the better coverage and that was important because after all the 700P is a phone and the rest of it's operation depends on coverage as well. The cost seems to be about the same for both carriers with Sprint having less minutes in their basic plan but making up the cost for Sprint Vision. Lastly using the Treo as a modem didn't ring a bell with me maybe because I don't have a laptop.

However, the PPV6700 is EVDO enabled, doesn't have DUN monitoring (which allows for unlimited modem usage) and has been rebated down to $199.00. The only issue is my lack of familiarity with WM5 and not knowing if the phone is VPN capable. I think I'll head over to the Sprint store over the weekend to play with the phones.
