Using 2 bulk/stainless pipes instead

Just got back from the shop where they recommended ordering a few feet of stainless steel pipe instead. They stated there's no gain in sound or HP from the X-Pipe (vs. cherry bombs or straight pipe) but that stainless steel would be necessary to avoid rotting and subsaquent replacement down the road (so avoiding ubercheap pipe is mandatory). They're going to cut and retain the flange connections so my rear exhaust can be changed as usual (without cutting). Lastly, they said a bender would not be necessary so labor should be low.
