Okay, no one really wants to touch the tranny ....The TCU error code is P0732 which means Gear 2 incorrect gear ratio.....and yes, when this all started, it had trouble shifting from 1st to 2nd gear....everytime it tried, it would go into transmission fail safe mode.

Now, after the error code did reset, I was able to go into manual shift mode and start in 2nd gear and keep it in 2nd gear with no problem....I think the problem lies that the car can't shift proper from 1st to 2nd....even if it is just electronic problem, most of the electronics is inside the tranny.

So I guess I am stuck getting a used BMW X5 auto tranny from Bavarian recycling or getting a refurbished one from the dealer.....any other advice or suggestion is appreciated....
