Signal strength bars in the BMW are not full strength either but that dosen't matter because although BMW bluetooth connection was working until a few days ago, now even with the car off the BMW appears in the 700P device setup window not the trusted window. It has a headphone icon next to it which seems to me to indicate that the 700P is seeing the X as a headset and that may be the reason i cant hear the number dialing or anyone speaking when the call is connected. Speed dial numbers are downloaded though. I did get a Motorola HS-850 to pair this morning, so my only hurdle is to find out what the glitch is with the X5 pairing with the 700P like it use to. No it's not the X. Last night i went outside and paired a Razr and everything went great.
