Actually, only 5 of their starting 9 are over 30, and only one is over 35. And only 2 of their 5 starting pitchers are over 30. Their problem this year has been injuries. Shefield & Matsui are both out for the year. They are both guys who hit .300, hit 30+ HRs, and drive in 100 runs each year. Also, Carl Pavano has been out all year.

If you take two 30 HR/100 RBI guys and one 15+ win starting pitcher from any team, they will have problems. It's a wonder the yankees are only a few games back of the Sox.
