Gotta pass this one on from my sister

She wrote me how in the 16th & 17th centuries, they used to ship large quantities of manure by boat for fertilizer. Dry, it was fine, but wet, it formed methane gas, with predictable results. So manure shipments were marked "Ship High In Transit" (S.H.I.T) Then she tells me, she always thought it was a golf term.
