Keep your head down and go easy, but unless you have
a 48" chest or a 44" belly, you ought to fit. Not fun
under there, but slightly easier than jacking it and putting
jack stands in place, just for an oil dump.

The "oil ring" you referred to is prob. the rubber O ring that
comes with a new filter. It goes on the oil filter holddown
cap, as shown in Hayaku's DIY pics, #30.

It's not a difficult job; just a bit of a PIA the first time
due to "room" constraints and messiness of those qts and
qts and qts gushing out the freakin drain hole: the oil
wants to go everywhere but in your 10 qt+ pan, lol!

Be careful and GL,

mD, I think it's a tougher job for his 4.4 since the filter itself is also under the car. He needs to follow TQ's DIY instead of Hayaku's.
