Thanks. I found this information in the forum after I had posted this thread. I guess SMS is not so important to me that I'm willing to spend the extra money required to replace the whole system. But I did go ahead and purchase a Motorola L2, which has the same operating system as the SLVR L7, so I'm guessing it will be fine. I just received it a few days ago, but haven't tried pairing it yet. First I need to transfer over my address book from my old phone, which will be a job in itself.
