Been to both. Spent 1/2 of my honeymoon at Cap Jaluca (which is pronounced with a D, not a J, btw). It is paradise on earth. Cuisinart is also awesome.

I was last on the island in February, and try to get there once a year. If you go, I'll tell you where to eat dinner.

You have all of the water sports you want, you can rent a jeep and ride around the island, hit some other beaches, and just enjoy the place. The island isn't a tropical paradise, there isn't too much to see, but it is an overall great place! The golf course won't be opened until next year, I believe.
