I've never been a fan of the Cayenne.

While I can appreciate that every Cayenne sold helps Porsche maintain its independence and provides capital for making the Cayman, Boxster and 911 better and better, it's never done much for me. I think the geniuses in Zuffenhausen might have done a better job if they approached the project from the standpoint of building "the Porsche of SUVs" rather than taking the cheaper (and ultimately, lesser) approach of bolting in a big motor, bolting on big wheels and taping a Porsche crest (and price tag) onto a Toaureg.

On the other hand, it's been an unqualified success. What do I know? I dunno..maybe I'm jaded. I'd take any BMW E53 over any comparable Cayenne any day.
