This is a replay of the Part I post on the same subject. I think it will end up the same, with a segment of our population here thinking as above.
For the record, I think that it is completely inappropriate to compare nursing a child with urinating or defecating in public. I don't think breast-feeding is taboo at all. If it is actually taboo in some societies, it is much more of a comment on those societies, and not on the act of nursing a child.
