I can understand the point of view of the surcharge, but instead of charging people, why doesn't Cingular send out letters to their analog and tdma clients stating that on (insert date here) those services will no longer be supported or offered and to upgrade to GSM. My Dad's friend had analog service and got a letter stating that after a certain date he wouldn't have service anymore. They offered him the typical phone discount and that was it.
