are you sure about that? I thought that they were merging the 2 gsm's and dropping the analog...
Regardless, GSM coverage and reliability in the NY tri-state area isn't as good as Verizon's CDMA for reliability. I can pretty much say the same thing about the Los Angeles area as well as Boston, the Hamptons and the Joisey Shore (those are the areas that I'm in most frequently)
