It is because the container only holds 7 on the GG version. There is a version that holds 9.5 Q if memory recalls.

Personally, between cleaning the suction tube, pouring out the oil into a oil pan, etc....I find it easier & faster to just crawl underneath, loosen the bolt and let it drain into a oil pan.

I come back to the car, change the filter, etc and then put a new crush washer/bolt and fill oil. It's relatively painless and seems like it's less work since I will need pour the oil into a pan to transport it o throw out the old oil.

No jacks, nothing needed - plenty of room undernath to crawl and do my thing..pre 04 models though.
