Just like Driver8 said.
For the CV boots you can crawl underneath the vehicle and visually check all 8 boots. You want to look for cracks/leakage coming out of them. Start with the front left outer boot as that is the one that commonly craps out first. It literately craps out the grease inside of it so you'll know!
