No of course not being concerned for your son is natural and positive but there is a difference between concern and fanaticism. In addition to being taught to be aware of your surroundings does the military not teach you to also respect them? Thinking you will need a firearm on your vacation in Europe seems a little disrespectful to me.

Again completely over the top and not at all accurate. Who the hell says that picking up a rifle and killing people is meaningful. And even if it were meaningful , is it the ONLY meaningful thing a person can do for the world.
