There is so much she can learn from reading and it will help her grades. It may be none of my business but think it over. Being well read is the gateway to wisdom and spiritural riches. An iPod? Just another distraction at this point. Just somebody (with an iPod) and 5 grandchildren expressing my 2 cents.
Valid point. The player is meant for the car and airplane. We have no problems getting her to read books. She read 150 books during the Kindergarten year. She is now reading chapter books during the summer holidays. In fact we have problems getting her to put down a book and come to the dinner table.

BTW, she has a gameboy that we bought her 2 years ago to keep her entertained when we go out for dinner. We have to nag her to play with it so that the adults can talk. She would much rather interact with the adults than play with the stupid thing.

I agree with you that much of today's music is trash. My daughter agrees too. She likes Van Morrison, Elton John, The English Beat and the Wiggles.
