Well I guess that's just where I would categorize them it's not like they're going to make the X a tank :-P

They drop the center of mass of the X making it handle better, and letting it keep a more balanced weight over all wheels at all times...which you could say is safer? :-P I just always think of like...if I want performance, mess with the engine bay, if I want safety, mess with the bottom of the car (brakes, tires, suspension....strut brace...whatever), if I want shine start from the inside out, cause I like my own comfort, not others
