Alright here's the low-down from a local:
Four Seasons Yorkville
Hyatt Park
Fairmont Royal York
They are all located in mid-town and downtown Toronto. Each is located in a part of town I can guarantee will not disappoint. The Royal York is located in actual downtown next to all the skyscrapers. The Hyatt and Four Seasons are located in Yorkville, which is one of the "poshest" places in Toronto. The Hyatt is the newest of all, but the Royal York is a Fairmont.
Along Church Street between Bloor Street and Richmond Street is Homosexual Town (no kidding)
From the DVP to around Pape along Danforth Avenue is Greek Town
Along Spadina Road between College Street and King Street is Chinatown
Along Bloor Street from Bathurst Street to Lansdowne Avenue is Korean Town
Along College Street from Bathurst Street to Dundas Street is Italian Town
Along Bathurst Street from Lawrence Avenue to Steeles Avenue is Israeli Town
Along Steeles Avenue from Dufferin Road to Yonge Street is Russian Town
The Jane Street and Finch Road area is Jamaican Town
Along Dupont Street from Dufferin Street to Jane Street is Portuegese Town
The suburb of Mississauga is European Immigrant Town
The actual very best restaurants in Toronto include:
Bymark (York & Wellington)
Bistro 990 (Bay & Wellington)
CN Tower 360-Degree (Bremner & Reese)
Ki (Bay & Front inside BCE Place)
Sotto-Sotto (Avenue & Davenport)
Wasaga Beach is NOT the place for proper beaches. It's full of young teens. The proper place is called "Tiny Beaches". It's another 10-20 kilometers north of Wasaga. Either beach is 150 kilometers from Toronto. Marriott at Eaton's is not a good experience. The Sheraton is outdated. The Hilton is cool. Also there's the InterContinental on Bloor and University. Right across from the Royal Ontario Museum. Contrary to popular belief, I would NOT recommend the Delta Chelsea over the Hyatt or Royal York.
