Perhaps you should wonder why the White House's own report on WMDs failed to mention it as well. Perhaps because there is no evidence that these weapons came from stockpiles from Saddam Hussein's government? They could just as easily been brought in from Iran or one of the former Soviet Republics -- all places where this stuff is quite plentiful.

Doubtful. They already had a team of several hundred military investigators spend longer than 6 months looking around and interviewing people. They found nothing as they clearly stated in their report.

If his lawyers are smart, they will use the DOD report issued in 1988 which claimed the Iranians were responsible for the gas attack on the Kurds. See my next post for info on that.

UNSCOM's official reports said they found and destroyed:
-40,000 munitions for chemical weapons
-2,610 tons of chemical precursors
-411 tons of chemical warfare agent
...and they discovered and dismantled all of Iraq's chemical and biological weapons facilities, and the infrastructure for Iraq's nuclear weapons program.

My personal opinion is he had a select 50 or so troops transport the stockpile to a secret location in the vast desert, buried it all and subsequently shot them to hide the evidence. He could have had one of his leaders arrange that so that even he couldn't eventually reveal the location under interogation.
