Just got back from 2 and a half weeks on holiday to the snow etc... and this gave the dealer tech plenty of time to strip down the car and get to the bottom of the issues...... being pinging under load and inoperative air suspension.

OFF with it's head! The heads came off, and the valves are a bit grubby, but nothing major. BUT! head gasket showed signs of a coolant leak area about 1-2 inches in area near cylinders..... Also replaced 8 ignition coils and 2 pcu's.. and so far no pinging.

Will be having a more in depth discussion next week after some more driving, but only thing left according to BMW to eliminate it is to lower the compression with a double head gasket... hmmmm

Replaced ECU for the suspension and a couple of control valves. Turn in to a corner is better but she still rolls like a yacht in a storm. Pretty sick of having to use my elbow on the door to keep my driving position. Next step is to put it in writing and get BMWAus involved directly.

Got a bit of running around to do tomorrow so will see what turns up.
