There are several religous politicians, some of which are clergy. I can't recall any of them calling the separation of church and state a lie. This is one of the foundations of this country and for a politician to attack that is truly the wrong message IMO.

You're missing the forest for the trees. I'm not saying that the
specifics of what she said are mainstream or normal, I'm saying that no one should be surprised that she "tailored" her responses to fit her
intended audience. Remember,
you weren't her intended audience during the interview. You can't even say with certainty that she really believes what she said. She's a politician - how do you know when a politician's lying? They're talking...
Are you honestly telling me that
no other politician has ever said something for one audience that sounded completely nutty to those outside of that audience? Please... "Chocolate city" indeed.
