Thank you to everyone who answered. I did do a search on gasoline before I asked the question, but was unable to find any threads other than one about legislation. Perhaps I didn't search correctly. I have a better idea now, so thanks.

I was fortunate that I bought an extended warranty when I purchased the X5 so most of the problems were covered by the dealer and the ones that weren't, they fixed because of the inconvenience I experienced since these things all started going wrong about 3 days after I drove the car home.

Appreciate all the great information I've found here.
