I think you are way off base. Scott27 explained above that the choice was made to base the suspension design of the E65 on the new E70. That will pay off in improved handling over the E53, additional features like active roll stabilization, lower cost (as it was already developed), greater reliability (it has already been tested) and so on. So, you don't get to lift up your new E70 like a Hummer or Cayenne. I guess dialing in ride height of the 7 series wasn't a design objective. I think they made a great design decision for the E70, from what I have read so far, and subject to actually driving it when it is released.

You have the option of buying a nice used E53, or any one of the many competitive products that have adjustable ride height.

Or, you could just try a vehicle with X-drive and see if it goes any better than your five year old E53 without X-drive. You may be surprised.
