I know that Sony has LCDs (rear projection & flat panel) that is true 1080p. There is only one Pioneer plasma (a 50" so far, Pro-HD1) that has true 1080p (not something that upconverts). If you want 1080p, I would go with Pioneer Pro-HD1. Best 1080p out there. Pioneer is the market leader in plasma flat panels. Their 1130 is also a nice plasma.
