A significant number of the 2004 models were shipped with the BT pairing card/code, but without the needed BT module. So, it is likely a hardware issue. Unless you can convince your dealer that the ULF is broken, and you need a new one (that should coincidentally work with your phone), you are stuck with buying one for several hundred dollars cash.
