The only reviews worth reading are the ones by enthusiasts. The people at Consumer Reports aren't enthusiasts of anything.
As with most things you get what you pay for. Viking and Wolf are top notch but you pay for it.
If your budget is in that range (no pun intended) consider
Bluestar. My sister has one and she says it's on par with Wolf and Viking but priced much better because it doesn't carry the big name.
