I leave the cable box on all the time, and turn the TV off when not watching it. Occasionally when I turn the TV on I get the green screen, plus sound. My workaround is to then turn the digital cable box off and then on, and that resets it. That is faster than cycling through all the inputs, which also fixes it. Turning my TV off and back on doesn't fix it, which is why I don't think it is a TV problem.
Sony store says it is the cable box. Cable company has heard of it, but points out that if I don't leave the cable box on it doesn't happen.
My interpretation is that the HDMI connection times out (even though it has a signal), and needs a reset. Powering on the cable box resets it.
I like the quality of the HDMI signal enough that I put up with it.
All suggestions welcome.

And that's what I'm working with as well... Sony SXRD 50". Thing is, I always turn the cable box off as well as the TV. But if cable companies are aware of it and Sony is aware of it, and it's nothing wrong with the TV or connection, then I'll deal as well.
Thanks!
